What will you do if you are miles from anywhere having a grand ole time fishing and suddenly you hit something and break your propeller shear pin? You did remember to put some extra shear pins in your emergency bag didn’t you? But then you realize that you don’t have a emergency bag. Hmm mm…it’s going to be a long paddle to get back to the boat ramp!
Well here is a little tip from yours truly that will save your sore back someday. First get a few extra shear pins that fit your motor. Next take off your motor cowling or access panel and using foil A/C tape, stick the shear pins down and they will always be there when you need them the most. An ounce of prevention will save an all day or night paddle.
